EXAMINING PLANS
This is a draft
It is not final
There is no “wrong”
There is no “bad”
There is only “how can we strengthen”
When you look at someone else’s plan, bring the lens of how you would improve it; this will develop your skills to examine your own plan
ANTELOPE VALLEY PROBLEM STATEMENT
The Antelope Valley Union High School District seeks to address CTE pathway enrollment and completion disparities among Hispanic, African American, and students with disabilities in the Antelope Valley by leveraging the K-12 Strong Workforce Grant to develop comprehensive strategies that encompass culturally sensitive outreach, training on professional skills, and culturally responsive pedagogy. Grant funds will be used to foster innovative instruction that embraces diverse backgrounds, offers technical skill training, and instills a firm belief in the potential of underserved students to secure high-skilled, high-wage employment opportunities driven by local workforce demands. CONNECT PROBLEM STATEMENT WITH OUTCOMES
If problem is target population not enrolling or completing…
- Outcome must be target population enrolls and completes; needs transition to post-sec
- Connect the dots on every outcome
- To ensure target pop enrolls, we will establish culturally relevant recruitment and enrollment
- To support target pop. pathway completion, we will implement culturally responsive teaching methods across 70% of all CTE classrooms This should result in a 15% improvement in Pathway academic performance among underrepresented student groups.
