Former supervisor at GDOT used to jokingly say “Explain this project in 50 words or less,” though I think that executive management occasionally held him to that.

I’ll try my best, but first note, more generally, that CKM already has a good cross-section of research completed, active, or pending. The contractor for 23-17 has been selected with notification pending, and the panels for 23-30/31 are at least partially formed.

Previous KM work at NCHRP can be found on our website using research snap searches or TRID, our comprehensive database.

23-02: KM from a different angle, including security, providing guidance on how state DOT’s can share data safely for joint activities and thereby foster collaboration

23-14: What is the path forward for KM research? What topics need further study to promote KM implementation at state DOT’s? This project aims to answer those questions by providing a research roadmap, not only providing topics for further study but actual problem statements for CKM to consider for submittal to NCHRP et al. for funding

23-17: Original title shown here, but NCHRP opted to combine this with not only developing metrics for the business value of KM, but also how KM can be incorporated into business practices and enabled through leadership strategy and culture.

23-30: Explores the concept of knowledge translation (KT), a practice developed by the NIH, to look at implementation more holistically ITO project lifecycles and foster implementation of research results thereby

23-31: Complementary to 23-14, this study will look back and likely provide further light on the path forward
