He + [tūingoa] + tāu / āu

Āe He pene whero tāku (Yes, I have a red pen)

OR

Kāore āku pene (I don’t have a pen / I don’t have pens)

He + [tūingoa] + tāku / āku

(He + Object + tāku / āku)

i.e. He pukapuka tāku (I have a book)

He pukapuka āku (I have books)

Achievemnt Objective/s: 1.5 communicate about location; 2.2- Communicate about possessions; 3.4 communicate, including comparing and contrasting about how people travel

24 of 70

OR

Kāore + āku + O

i.e. Kāore āku pukapuka (I don’t have a book/ I don’t have books)

Achievemnt Objective/s: 1.5 communicate about location; 2.2- Communicate about possessions; 3.4 communicate, including comparing and contrasting about how people travel

  • The person being asked must then answer with either “Āe” He whare tāku OR “Kāore āku whare
  • If the opponent has the card, they must give it to the player who earns 1 point. If they don’t have it, they must say “Ika”. That player then picks up 1 card.
