Grades

Seventh grade English & History grades will be quarterly, focusing on the standards and on the history units of study. Final staged writing, projects and assessments will be graded more heavily than independent practice. Grades will be posted online regularly or as new assignments are completed.

All papers and assignments must be in MLA format. Students are responsible for keeping assignments and materials organized and safe. They will be needed to review, study for future testing and for accountability of all work. The use of the MDUSD Google Docs is required for all projects and writing assignments so that they are easily accessible at home and school. Students should save all returned work and keep it until told it is no longer needed.

Any/all forms of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated and may negatively affect student’s grade. Additionally, academic dishonesty may be reported to administration and to parent/guardian.

Academic dishonesty includes copying other students’ work, plagiarism, and cheating.

Please make wise decisions;

academic dishonesty is not worth it!

Academic Dishonesty

More often than not, there will be the opportunity to begin homework in class, as most homework assignments will be a direct extension of the lesson in class, or (most likely) homework will be to finish an in-class assignment that was not completed during class time..

It is important for students to manage their class time wisely, ask questions in class, and plan accordingly at home.

A Note About

Homework

A student who has been absent has the same amount of days absent to make up missed work.

  • Assignments must be completed by the time and date posted by your teacher. Daily assignments (work assigned in class to be completed that day) should be turned in on time unless prior arrangements have been made.
  • All missing/late assignments will receive a zero until it is turned in.
  • If you have any issue with an assignment or due date you must contact me as soon as possible, before the due date!

Absence Policy

Late Policy

If a student is absent on a due date, they must present their assignment(s) the day they return, or email the teacher concerning a possible extension.

Students should check the daily agenda in Google Classroom. It is the student’s responsibility to communicate with the teacher about absences (both planned and unplanned) regarding missed classwork, assignments, and tests.
