ABOUT DR. ZAKIR HUSSAIN

DR. ZAKIR HUSSAIN was born at Hyderabad on February 8, 1897, he came of a Pathan family of the upper middle-class, settled at Qaunganj in the District of Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh. He went for higher education to Mohammadan Anglo-Oriental College (now Aligarh Muslim University). He was known even in those days for his love of knowledge, his wit and eloquence and his readiness to help his fellow students. Zakir Hussain, then only 23 and a student of the M.A. class, was among the small group of students and teachers who decided to establish a National Muslim University by the name of Jamia Millia Islamia.

Dr Zakir Hussain (February 8, 1897 - May 3, 1969) was the third President of India from May 13, 1967 until his death. In his deeply moving inaugural speech he said that the whole of India was his home and all its people were his family.

IMPORTANCE OF AIR

Dr. Zakir Hussain has written many story for children. In Blow hot, Blow cold Mian Balishtiye saw a woodcutter that he was every now and then bring his hands close to his mouth and blow hard on them to warm them. But Mian Balishtiye could not understand. He went to the woodcutter and ask him why you are bringing your hands close to your mouth. Than woodcutter replied him due to clod my hands are frozen, so I blow on them to warm them. After some time Mian Balishtiye saw that the woodcutter blow on potato. Again he could not understand. He went to the woodcutter and ask him, that time you told me that for warming my hands I used to blow, now you are blowing on potato to warm it? No, this time I am going to cool it a potato because it is too hot. In this way he has scientifically proved that how air is important for us.
