WHY ARE PUMPKINS ORANGE?

By Cameron S.

This is the time of the year when you start going to the pumpkin patch and picking a pumpkin. But have you ever wondered why most of the pumpkins are orange?

First you have to know why pumpkins change color. Pumpkins change color because pumpkins of the vines gradually slow down and stop there production of chlorophyll. (a chemical that changes the color of the pumpkin). The chemical is green. But sometimes it is a different color. For example green, makes a green pumpkin. But still there is the question WHY are most of the pumpkins orange and not a different color.

Pumpkins are mostly orange because of a special chemical called carotene. It is what makes carrots orange too. There is another reason. We made them. Well, humans from a long time ago did. Here is a video to help you understand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNEV8v0VNSw

Warrior Cats: Into The Wild Book Review!

By Zoey J.

Warrior cats is a wonderful and exciting book series. Each and every clan has an important role in the story, every book, every paragraph has meaning. It's truly an amazing fandom to be a part of. Here's why you should try it out!

To start off the series, we have a creative, but slightly boring entry.

Our main character, Rusty, had to choose between his loving and easy life of being a kittypet, or a clan cat. He chose the life of a clan cat. The choice was quite obvious, the series would've been boring if he didn't choose the clan cats. After he goes on to thunderclan, the moment he gets in he is challenged to a battle due to his kittypet heritage. He ends up beating a fully trained warrior as a cat barely old enough to fight a squirrel. I find this uninteresting and quite confusing.

Warrior Cats Into the Wild: Book Review!

Rating the book

However, after the weak start the book gets so much better! Everything starts to make sense, and the writers really were able to make the series better. It's definitely worth reading once you get past the beginning.

I've read through this first book at least twice, and I think I'd give it a solid 3/5. The book definitely gets better later, but I think they could have done a better job pulling in the reader in the Beginning.
