A Note about the Low Cost Designation

The Low Cost designation is applied to instructional materials that are $30 or less. The designation is based on the pre-tax retail price of new materials in the CRC Bookstore only. It does not apply to the price of used or rental books or ebooks available through the CRC Bookstore or any other bookseller. For this reason, Los Rios does not allow faculty to self-report a low-cost designation. Instead, a college representative will complete an analysis of the bookstore adoption list to determine which classes qualify for the low-cost designation. Faculty are not allowed to self-report this designation.
