Updates
New After School Program opening (ELOP)
A free after-school program for Kindergarten students, with our STAR program serving as a subcontractor for the Beyond-the-Bell organization.
The adult-student ratio will be 1:20
The applications are being processed in the order they were received. All families will be contacted by the STAR personnel.
English Language Learners Advisory Committee
For the parents of students who are learning English (emerging bilinguals), this year we are creating an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). The purpose of the ELAC is to advocate for the needs of emerging bilingual students and send their recommendations to the School Governance Council.
For our school, we need to elect 3 parent members.
Meetings will be held once a month in a hybrid format (in-person and/or on the zoom). Our election meeting is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 26. Time TBD.

Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF)
Fórmula de Financiación de Control Local (LCFF)
Starting in 2013, California has implemented the Local Control Funding Formula to allocate funds to Districts and Affiliated Charters. The initial Funding Formula included Base Funds, Supplemental Funds, and Concentration Funds.
Starting in 2021, the initial Funding Formula was modified to include an additional concentration grant add-on component:
Base Funds: Districts receive Base funds for every student.

Supplemental Funds: Districts receive Supplemental funds for every student who is an English Learner, in foster care, and/or low income.

Concentration Funds: Districts receive Concentration funds for every student who is an English Learner, in foster care, and/or low income over 55% of a school district’s enrollment.

Concentration Grant Add-On: Districts receive additional funds to be spent on school staffing at schools with over 55% enrollment of English Learners, low-income students, and/or foster youth.

Goal 7: Black Student Achievement Plan Overview
The Black Student Achievement Plan (BSAP) was approved by the Los Angeles Unified Board of Education in February of the 2020-2021 school year. Funding allocations have been earmarked to address the longstanding disparities in educational outcomes between Black students and their non-Black peers.
