Did you know that our brain is processing a huge amount of information from our environment at any time?

One researcher estimates that your five senses take in about 11 million bits of information every second!

Attention

is our brain’s way of dealing with and focusing on what is the most important information in our environment.

  • Only respond when “Simon Says”
    • Otherwise, do not follow the instruction
  • Remember to Stop & Think before responding!
  • Focus on following the directions, rather than having speedy responses

Snakes and Ladders

  • Start playing normally - go up ladders and go down snakes
  • Halfway through, switch rules - go up snakes and go down ladders
  • If you notice you’re having trouble with these changes, try:
  • Stopping and thinking
  • Body scan
  • Brain / movement break
