A.I Repair documents labeling

• Bosch has licenses with several vehicle manufacturers (“OEMs”) to republish automotive repair information inside the ESI[tronic] product line.
• The data deliveries include large amount of data (order of magnitude is ~ 5 million documents per OEM, target is ~20/25 brands minimum)
• All these data are already automatically processed to be harmonized in structure and appearance before being published on ESI[tronic]
• The workshop mechanics can use the built-in search function to look for the desired information when repairing a vehicle.

The challenge

A.I Repair documents labeling

• To improve the degree of integration with ESI[tronic] diagnostic functions (such as read DTC’s, actual values etc.), we need to be able to determine more precisely the key content of each file, e.g.:
• Which components are described in details?
• For which of them we have precise location description?
• How many have a complete description of how to mount/unmount them?
• Etc.
• We want to use an A.I. approach to generate “labels” (in addition to those algorithmically applied such as make, model, document type, etc.) we can add to the metadata of each document, which will then be used at runtime to quickly identify the right documents to offer the user based on the context.
• To be noted that the component labels shall be in Bosch naming convention, while each OEM has its own vocabulary.
