Quick Task 2- Biomes
Biomes are large-scale ecosystems characterized by distinct climates, vegetation, and wildlife
Major Biome Examples with Descriptions:
Tropical Rainforest- Dominated by tall, large leaf trees, warm, humid, and wet year-round, with diverse plant and animal life
Taiga- Dominated by coniferous trees, long cold winters, animals have thick fur
Savanna- A transitional area characterized by grassland with scattered trees, located between forests and grasslands. Key animals include large grazing mammals like elephants and giraffes, as well as predators such as lions and cheetahs.
Desert- A severely dry area of land characterized by sparse vegetation and extreme temperatures. Animals are adapted to little water, including mammals like camels and fennec foxes, reptiles like lizards and snakes, and birds like roadrunners and hawks.
Tundra- Cold, frozen landscape. No trees. Animals that live here, like penguins, polar bears, and arctic foxes, build up stores of fat to sustain and insulate them through the winter
