The Experiment

Can a series of Grow This! challenges serve as a platform for engaging WVU Extension faculty and staff in collective implementation and evaluation of efforts to build nutrition security.

Provide education and support to MAXIMIZE PRODUCTION of Grow This! crops

  • Earn one points for each person that participates in garden-based education.

  • Weigh and report the quantity of produce grown in pounds and earn 1 point per pound.

  • Calculate and report the value of produce grown for one additional point for each dollar.

Earn points for providing education on how to prepare Grow This! crops.

Earn points for each meal or snack served that contains kale, carrots or peppers.

  • Bonus points if the produce was grown locally (farmers, school/community or individual garden)
