Why invest in early warning systems?

EWS contributes to reducing human casualties and save movable property of the households and communities.

In Nepal, the estimated value of the benefits from the Flood EWS is equivalent to USD 1083 per household.

In Europe, for every 1 Euro invested, benefits are of the order of 450 Euro.

Establishment of EWS can lead an average of 23,000 lives save per year, 300 million to 2 billion USD avoided asset losses, and additional 3 to 30 billion USD of economic benefits (agriculture, energy, etc.).
