Hello little inventors! Today we travel to Sicily together with Talos to learn about katapults.
Η Ιστορία του Καταπέλτη / The Story of the Catapult
Τι ήταν ο καταπέλτης;
The catapult was one of the smartest machines of ancient times! Imagine it like a giant, wooden arm that could throw things very far away.
Πώς τον χρησιμοποιούσαν;
Ancient inventors in Sicily used it to protect their cities. Instead of throwing stones with their hands, they used the power of the catapult to send them high into the sky, just like launching rockets!
Πώς λειτουργεί;
It didn't need electricity or batteries. It only needed strong ropes and flexible wood. When they pulled the arm back and let it go suddenly, all the power pushed the stone far away!
Hello, my brave little engineers!
Greetings from the beautiful, sunny island of Sicily! While wandering near the Great City of Syracuse, I met some brilliant ancient inventors. They weren't building robots like me, but they were working on something incredible: The Catapult!
I watched them use big wooden beams and twisted ropes to throw things high into the sky. It’s like a giant arm that never gets tired! They told me it’s all about tension and strength.
I have a mission for you: Can you become inventors for one day? Can you build your own small catapults and show me how far you can launch a ball?
I can’t wait to see your inventions on our screen! My friends in the other schools are waiting too. Let's see who can send their message the farthest!
With metallic hugs,
Talos, the Bronze Traveler
