Our Goals

It is the utmost priority of the Lincoln Sudbury School Committee to ensure Lincoln-Sudbury (LS) Regional High School remains a place of optimal learning, growth, and development.

As a governing body, it is the role of the LS School Committee to take action to ensure our school conducts itself in accordance with its values, principles, and purpose. These principles will inform the LS School Committee in decision making related to budget, resource allocation, policy development, and evaluation of the Superintendent/Principal. This work shall be completed by June 30, 2025.

In collaboration with the Superintendent/Principal, the LS School Committee commits to the following goals.

Improve Community Engagement

The LS School Committee will work to improve communication and engagement with the community in Lincoln, Sudbury, and Boston.

  • The School Committee will assess and refine the communication strategies intended to improve transparency in the 2023-2024 school year, including our newsletter to the community and regular, periodic listening sessions. This assessment may include a survey of the community.
  • The School Committee will provide more detail and specificity within meeting agendas.
  • The School Committee will improve outreach to the LS community in Boston.

Strengthen Governance

The LS School Committee will work to ensure that it is performing effectively as a governing body.

  • The School Committee will identify areas where its members may benefit the most from professional development, and ensure opportunities are provided for this development, including a Spring workshop.
  • The School Committee will work to create a protocols document, for the purpose of institutionalizing common practices and norms for the Committee.
  • The School Committee will review and improve the annual budget process to ensure the approval of a transparent, data driven budget aligned with school needs.

Support Program Quality

The LS School Committee will work with the Superintendent/Principal to ensure high-quality programming aligned to LS’s core values, principles, and purpose.

  • The School Committee will support the 2024-2025 School Improvement Plan by receiving and using a variety of data to monitor program effectiveness and inform decision making.
  • The School Committee will request that presentations at meetings include quantifiable metrics when practicable, including information related to disparities in opportunities and outcomes tied to race, disability status, gender identity, and other demographic groups.
  • The School Committee will review feedback and data related to the new Advisory program in the Fall and Spring, which is entering its second year.
