COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Enthusiastically support and practice Parowan High Athletic Motto.
  • Do your best to make sure your athletes enjoy the experience.
  • Provide praise and constructive feedback to your athletes when they deserve it.
  • Set a good example. Young people need a coach they can look up to and respect.
  • Be reasonable in your demands on young athletes’ time, energy and performance on the playing field.
  • Teach your players to honor the rules of the game.
  • Foster respect among your athletes for the judgment of referees and the ability of opponents.
  • Let a Physician/Trainer determine when an injured athlete is ready to play again.
  • Be aware of the physical, mental and emotional development of young athletes.
  • Routinely check your equipment and facilities. They should meet safety standards and be appropriate for the size and ability of your players.

* Comply with the PHS Coaches Contract and Coaching Standards.

  • ** At the end of each sport season the athletes will be emailed an athlete survey regarding their coaches, and the sport they just finished playing. This will be sent to their school email account, and we ask that the athlete complete the survey on their own. These surveys allow the coaches and the school to evaluate our programs as well as give valuable feedback. The surveys are anonymous.

  • Families who are on a fee waiver must complete the paperwork to qualify each year.
  • Students who qualify for a fee waiver must visit the financial office and indicate to the financial secretary that they are participating in a sport. The financial secretary will issue a waiver receipt to the athlete who may then turn it into the coach.
