The Geography

COURSE

  • The new A Level course is an issue based course from Pearson Edexcel.
  • This means that the topics that are studied relate to modern day problems and solutions
  • The new specification is updated for the 21st Century, and builds on students prior learning.
  • Whole A-Level grade will come from exams and one piece of coursework.
  • High academic challenge, regular homework and independent study
  • 5 hours per week
    • 2 teachers (2 hour and 3 hour split)

COURSEWORK

Students will complete at least 4 days of fieldwork study.

  • KLCC - Urban fieldwork
  • Dolphin Bay - Thailand
    • Students produce a 4000 – 5000 word independent investigation relating to a coastal and/or tourism issues.
    • High level academic university style research project.
