  • Students must be 4 years-old as of September 1, 2024
  • Students who are 5 will be enrolled in kindergarten
  • Students turning 4 after September 1, 2024, are not eligible for UTK

Seating Capacity

Students with birth dates between June 3, 2020 and September 1, 2020 must be in a class of no more than 20 students.

  • Age eligible students can be placed in a class of 20 or 24.
  • Schools with one classroom will be determining class size (20 or 24 students)

UTK Enrollment

  • UTK enrollment will be at the school of residence until capacity is reached. Waitlist will be available.

  • Dedicated magnets will enroll strictly via Choice.

  • Parents are encouraged to enroll their student at the school of residence. If you receive an offer for a Choice seat, you may still accept. It will not impact waitlist or the offer of Choice.

  • Families interested in UTK who reside out of district should apply for Choice.

  • Choice seats will be limited. The Choice waitlist is valid through Friday, August 9.

Please have the following documents to complete enrollment:

-Birth Certificate

-Proof of address

-Immunizations

-IEP (if applicable)

To attend a school other than your neighborhood school, please apply for Choice. Student must be offered a seat.

Priority Window: January 22 – February 2, 2024

  • Students with Individualized Education Plans (IEP) should enroll in their school of residence. If your child’s resident school does not have the appropriate setting or supports for the student’s IEP, the resident school will direct you to a school with space available.
  • Please direct questions about your child’s IEP to your case manager including questions for the appropriate UTK setting.
  • Students currently enrolled in a separate setting or a blended preschool program will need to complete the process as indicated previously. Students do not automatically enroll (auto-articulate) into UTK at their current school of attendance or to the resident school.

  • The Google Form will be centrally managed by Neighborhood Schools and Enrollment Options (NSEO)
  • The waitlist will be ranked in date of birth order
  • Students can remain on the resident school waitlist and still be placed at a nearby school
  • Waitlist will be active until Friday, August 9, 2024
  • Transfers are not permitted once school begins
  • For kindergarten, students will be able to return to neighborhood school
  • Families wishing to remain at overflow school for kindergarten must apply for Choice in the fall.

UTK Placement Timeline

Priority Window: January 22 – February 2, 2024

  • February 5 - 9 - Schools will review all completed enrollment packets submitted between Jan 22 - Feb 2. It is not a first come, first served basis during the priority enrollment period.

  • February 12 - Schools will begin notifying parents of placement and providing the QR codes to families who do not receive resident placement.

  • February 20 - NSEO will begin contacting families with placement offer.
