Although typically unpaid, you may earn credit through the Exploratory Experience program because these opportunities are useful for a student to explore a specific interest under direct observation of an established expert (mentor) combined with student work-based-learning. You may enroll for Exploratory Experience credits for summer and/or during the school year. If your internship is paid, you may enroll in the Work Experience program for credit during summer and/or school year at any time during the year.

Externship Model

Externship model that's been well received by others in the state. Are you hearing from your students that they are feeling lost and don’t know what their next step is after High School? Many students are questioning the traditional 4 year college pathway because of cost and lack of confidence that it will lead to a meaningful career. The good news is that degrees are no longer required for some high wage & high demand careers.

If you have students and parents who are interested, please have them visit our Programs Page. We're happy to have you and your families join our “Modern Student’s Roadmap To Success” webinar which can be found on the webpage.

Civic engagement opportunities for students: The theme of this summer’s online Ed100 Academy for Student Leaders will be “Students and Civic Engagement.” This is the third year of EdSource partnership in this life-changing free conference, which will be held online June 20-22. A highlight for many students is the “fast pitch” session: nonprofit organizations explain their work and how students can get involved. Applications for students and faculty advisors are due June 8. Apply here.
