Introduction and General overview
2
Our aim is to help our students learn a lot of facts, information and techniques, and also develop problem solving and critical thinking skills. We expect our students to play an active role in their learning, be independent learners and work collaboratively with others.
In year 7, we follow the Cambridge curriculum.
The curriculum is presented in six content areas:
Algebra
Number
Measure
Geometry
Handling data
Problem solving
Our assessment objectives are streamlined with the Cambridge objectives, “Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of mathematical techniques and reasoning, interpret and communicate mathematically when solving problems.”
This will be assessed through various platforms: daily classwork, pop quiz, online assessments and class assessments.
