MISSION & GOALS

• Classes are structured to help students demonstrate competency in the 3 learning domains: Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor. Students will be able to apply movement concepts and principles to the learning and development of motor skills.

• Las clases se estructuran para ayudar a estudiantes a demostrar capacidad en los 3 dominios que aprenden: cognoscitivo, afectivo y psicomotor.  Los estudiantes podrán aplicar conceptos y principios del movimiento a aprender y al desarrollo de las habilidades de motor.

LEARNING DOMAINS

• AFFECTIVE – 15% = Good sportsmanship, working well with others, appropriate language use.
• PSYCHOMOTOR – 50% = participation (dressing, being prepared for class, attendance)
• COGNITIVE – 35% = notebooks, projects and test

SWEATERS (HOODIES)

• For the sweaters, you may write their first & last name inside the hood or inside the garter at the bottom of the sweater.
• For PE ONLY

NON SUIT/ NON DRESS POLICY

• Students are expected to dress daily for PE.
• If the student has forgotten their clothes, loaner clothes will NOT be available.
• Students who forget to bring PE clothes will get a non-suit, which will result in a loss of points, note home to parents and afterschool detention.

• Los estudiantes deben vestirse diariamente para PE.
• Si el estudiante ha olvidado de su ropa, ropa de préstamo no estará disponible.
• Los estudiantes que se olviden de traer ropa PE recibirá un no-traje, que resultar en una pérdida de puntos, Casa Nota para padres y detención después de clases.
• Aún se esperan los estudiantes a participar en actividades regulares, incluso si no se visten.

THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING �PE CLOTHES EVERYDAY

• Students will be able to participate if they have their full PE uniform (top & bottom)

• They will not be able to participate if they are in their school uniform

• Work their own combination lock
• To dress for PE properly daily
• Proper techniques to pass the fitness test
• How to use fitness standard charts
• Health related components (in kid friendly terms)
• Skill related components (in kid friendly terms)
• How to use the Notebook (count signatures, use rubrics)

WHAT 7^TH GRADERS WILL KNOW…

• Students will know unit objectives
• Students will be able to identify and explain health related and skill related components
• Students will keep an activity log
• Students will complete a bullying or fitness project
• Students will be able to identify muscles being used and explain use
• Working knowledge of notebook including fitness charts, counting signatures and making goals

WHAT 8^TH GRADERS WILL KNOW…

• Students will know how to write objectives for each unit and reflect on how they met the unit
• Students will know how to complete a bullying and fitness project
• Students will appreciate life long activity by keeping an activity log
• Students will know how to use the notebook with mastery
• Students will know basic muscles and use
• Students will know how to make goals to improve their fitness

NOTEBOOK

• Bring everyday
• Must be signed by the teacher before the end of class
• Students can only write in Blue/black/pencil
• If the student has wrecked his/her folder or lost their packets, they may be asked to replace it.

TEACHER SIGNATURES

• After each activity students will answer questions regarding the activity and get a signature from the teacher. Each signature at the end of the unit is worth 5 points
