What means planetary health solidarity to you as a group? Our goals Our next common step

Living and non-living

    • interspecies solidarity, living together between species, right of the non-living (transposition criticism)
    • list references: Baptiste Morizot (being on the same level), Philippe Descola, Nicole Redvers
    • increase knowledge, skills and competences about this topic
    • build awareness among ourselves and others (complexity)
    • people dimension: equality,and equity, humility, inter-generational empathy, dis- / re-connect to Nature
    • giving the ones that have less power a voice and pushing their agendas (community-driven capacity building)
    • implement rules and norms to safeguard for future generations
    • need to get inspiration from bottom-up and participatory initiative from abroad
    • linking and valuing existing initiatives / communities rather than restarting one, reducing duplicates, be energy efficient
    • map of PHS consortia and initiatives - take advantage of Geneva ecosystem :)
    • gather guides such as the list of 12 principles for PHS (Planetary Health Ethics: Beyond First Principles - https://www.mdpi.com/2078-1547/10/1/14/xml).
    • propose an alternative to global governance among nations
    • representation of marginalised groups at the UN / EU parliament to counterbalance the power of states

Our group process

    • to become really diverse in the group itself (push for solidarity agenda but also be solidar) including in the regions represented
    • setting an agenda with a as diverse group as possible, but challenging as people come from different disciplines, language barriers, time zones etc.
    • have indicators to identify non-represented groups
    • maybe start with manifesto and paper → Agree on values and goals
    • follow-up with registered people to identify barriers to participate -- other opportunities to engage
    • keep a momentum to move forward, a 1-hour informal discussion every two weeks?
