Filling out the FAFSA

August 1, 2022 - July 31, 2023 2022-2023 2020
Priority Deadlines for FAFSA is FEBRUARY 1 , opens OCTOBER 1st
Student and Parent need to have : tax return forms, SSN, DOB, marital status and selective service registration. UNLESS your child is homeless, they are your dependent until age 24, for this purpose. It’s just the law
IRS DATA RETRIEVAL - use this if possible, will transfer into FAFSA
*Will not be able to use if marital status is different from your taxes
GRANTS :
Pell Grant
*need based on Federal Aid
* based on your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC)
*Pays based on credit hours attending
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
*need based Federal Aid
*each college receives a set amount to offer Work Study
*requirements may vary by school * Student works at the college and earns money
*works with your school schedule

DID YOU KNOW? Missouri State Aid
Missouri offers State Aid! The FAFSA must be filled out first.
A+ Scholarship Program Must meet certain requirements, including GPA and ATTENDANCE
Pell Grants applies to the account BEFORE A+
Can be used at community college or Vocational school for 48 months
Access Grant Must have completed FAFSA by Priority Deadline : Feb 1st Access info Link
Have qualifying EFC (expected family contribution)
Will be deducted if A+ is applied to student’s account
Can be used for up to $1500 at a community College, and $2850 at university
