This Topic’s Objectives

Unit Overview: This Unit will help students learn to set up ground rules for their classroom so that everyone feels safe and ready to participate. Students will reflect on communication and listening skills, as well as expand their feelings vocabulary. They will explore cooperation and learn techniques for working well with others.

• Students will communicate something about themselves nonverbally.

• Students will define communication and identify the many ways people communicate.

• Students will practice speaking and listening by conducting group interviews.

• Students will analyze how missing information leads to miscommunication

• Students will define communication, miscommunication and nonverbal communication

• Students will understand aspects of nonverbal communication and act out examples of nonverbal communication
