  • Must be completed for all Athletes
  • Due before the first game (12/14 – Fr. & JV), (12/16 – Var.) in order to be eligible to play
  • This is to help supplement to make sure all school programs are capable of continuing to be run. Without these funds several sports in the school would have to be canceled.
  • Go to register.communitypass.net
  • Type “South Brunswick Public Schools, NJ” in the “Community or Organization” field and click continue.
  • Enter username and password.
  • Select “South Brunswick School District” under “Participating Organization”. 
  • Select “2023-2024” School District Programs”, and continue registration from there.

IMPORTANT PLAYER STANDARDS

Academic

  • Maintain a C – Average to be eligible with 30 credits for the Fall and Winter
  • We do not want this to be the goal for players. Challenge yourself to your very best!
  • Coaches have the right to hold all players accountable for their school work

Injuries  

  • If a player gets injured they will want to make sure to see the Trainer First
  • Our training Staff has 20 years of experience and they are very knowledgeable
  • They will determine if the player needs to be sent to the doctor after their assessment

IMPORTANT PLAYER STANDARDS

Concussion Impact Test

  • Baseline Test
  • If a player has a head impact, they will then take the test again and compare it to the baseline
  • This needs to be done every 2 years. ALL freshman, Juniors, and transfer students are required to take it.

On Court and Off the Court Standards

  • We went over this with the players and they can be found on our website
  • DON’T DO ANYTHING TO EMBARRASS YOURSELF, THE TEAM, OR YOUR FAMILY 
  • Treat and respect your coaches, teammates, refs, and opponents as you would yourself.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE

  • Tentative In Season Calendar was made for all teams and sent out to you via email. We can send again today for anyone who might of missed it.

  • Most practices are after school each day with 1 late day a week.

 

  • Times are subject to change. We will still send the players the schedule each week.

HOME GAME TYPICAL SCHEDULE

Freshman

  • 4:00 pm in the annex gym for weekday games
  • 9:00 am on Saturdays

JV

  • 4:00 pm in the Main gym for weekday games
  • 9:00 am on Saturdays  

Varsity

  • 6:00 PM in the Main gym for weekday  
  • 11:00 am on Saturdays
  • Away games will be around these same times. You can view the game schedules at https://www.greatermiddlesexconference.org. The game schedule is also listed on the website under the schedules tap.

  • All Student athletes are required to take the bus to and from away games

PROTOCOL OF COMMUNICATION

  • The Student Athlete and the coach have the conversation
  • If they are upset with their situation on the team we have an open door policy with the players. Encourage players to speak with us if they want to.
  • We will be straight forward with the players communicating their current role and what things they need to improve on.
  • We will be communicating with players year round. Roles. Standards.. etc.…
  • During Games
  • Adults Set the Tone. Parents and coaches
  • Be a role Model in regards to sportsmanship.
  • No ref is perfect. They will miss calls. Do the right thing.

Program Fundraiser

  • - SNAP. We have this going on right now
  • - Funds go back to the program. Travel suits, back packs, Senior gifts… Banquet materials.

Cleanliness

  • Keep your practice Jersey, Uniform, and any Gear Clean consistently. Uniforms and practice jerseys need to be return at the end of the season in good condition.
  • Fines for lost gear
  • Varsity Letter Requirements
  • If an Athlete fulfills the requirements of the season they will receive their Varsity letter. Full Commitment to all Team Events.
