High School Scheduling Process

  • You will receive a copy of this ppt, complete list of electives, a link to the NHS Program of Studies, and the course selection Google Form on 1/18 in an email from Ms. Meyler
  • You will have Two Electives:
    • Rank Elective Choices 1 - 6 (one being your first choice)
    • Your choice may require a recommendation
    • Study Hall - default ast choice (7th) if not selected as a preference
  • Complete the Google Form by 1/26
  • Your list of course requests appears in no particular order
    • On Feb 9, NHS Counselors will be here to meet with you to review course recommendations from this year’s teachers and input your elective choices and answer any questions
    • In March, review your final course recommendation selections in the student/parent portal and reach out with any errors or changes

Things to Remember...

If you are recommended for an elective, you may have the option of choosing another available elective.

Alternate classes are important: Your first choices may be full or it may conflict with other courses you must take.

*Study hall is the 7th elective choice for all students.

Scheduling: What Comes Next

  • Students receive the 9th Grade Course Selection Google Form and Descriptions in an email on January 18th (Following 8th grade parent night on Jan 17th)
  • Choose your electives in this Google Form by Thursday, January 26
    • Reach out to Ms. Meyler with questions or for help
  • February 9th - Meet to review course recommendations/elective requests
  • Course requests can be viewed in the Student and Parent Portals in March
    • You will receive an email asking you to review the course requests and reach out if there is an error
    • If you have any questions about your English, math, science, social studies, or world language recommendations, see Ms. Meyler.
