  Map and flag

The first official flag of Greece was established on March 15, 1882. 6 years later, in 1828, a white cross on a blue background appeared on the flag and it was in force until 1969. Since December 21, 1978, the current flag has been in force. The blue color on the flag symbolizes the sky and the sea, the white color symbolizes the sea waves, and the cross symbolizes the Orthodox Church.

• In Greece, the largest religious denomination is the Greek Orthodox Church, to which the vast majority of the Greek population belongs and which is recognized by the constitution as the state religion123. Other major religions include Islam, Catholicism, Hellenism, and Protestantism.1 According to data from 2017, the faithful of the Greek Orthodox Church constitute 90% of the population of Greece, and non-believers 4%2.
• The currency used in Greece is the euro. It was introduced in 2002, replacing the Greek drachma. As of today, in Greece, the only means of payment that we can use to pay is the euro

History

The history of Greece includes the history of the territory of the modern nation-state of Greece, as well as the history of the Greek people and the areas they inhabited and ruled in the past. At its peak of culture and geography, Greek civilization spread from Egypt to the Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan.

According to the constitution of 1975 (modified in 1986), Greece is a republic headed by a president elected by parliament for a 5-year term, with the right to re-election once. Legislative power belongs to the 1-chamber parliament (Wuli), which has 300 deputies, elected by universal suffrage for 4 years.

Economy of Greece

-The Greek economy is a social market economy and has been in the euro zone since 2002. The driving force behind the development of the economy were investments related to preparations for the 2004 Summer Olympics.

-Greek culture�The mixing of various cultures has largely contributed to what Greece looks like today. They all left traces that we can admire to this day: Byzantines - churches and monasteries, Venetians - fortresses in Nafplio and Methoni in the Peloponnese, Franks - castles on rock tops.

In greek kitchen there is a lot of olive oil in food. I think sometimes it makes food better. The most popular greek traditional foods are:

Souvlaki, moussaca, dolmades, taramosalta, horiatki, spanakopita, fasolatha. I think greek kitchen is really nice.

IN THE SEA SIDE ZONE THERE ARE HOT AND DRY SUMMERS, AND MILD WINTERS. IN THE NOTHERN PART OF COUNTRY IT'S A TEMPARE CONTINENTAL CLIMATE.  IN GREECE THERE IS REALLY BEAUTYFUL SEA AND THERE ARE AMAZING MOUNTANIANS. THERE ARE A LOT OF BIRDS. WETHANDS ARE HOME FOR PELICANS, HERONDS AND STILLS.AT FORESTS THERE ARE BEAUTYFUL BIRDS LIKE BAGPIPES. THERE ARE MAMMALS AND REPTILES TOO.

• The most popular city in the Greece is Athens.
• The most-visited region of Greece is that of Central Macedonia in northern Greece, near some of the most popular attractions in the country such as Halkidiki, Mount Olympus,
• The most popular monument is meteoryt.      
• Beautiful places, hospitable people, stunning beaches, fantastic weather, unique flavors… there are a million reasons to visit Greece. The cradle of Western civilization is a wonderful destination all year round .
