It saves user time in search of ambulance availability in such in traffic areas and

sometimes in emergency cases it books before an emergency. The system

provides all type of ambulance availability on the basis of their needs. User can

pay online on the spot and confirm booking their ambulance. It excludes the

need of human efforts for emergency and human life and it also saves our time.

INTRODUCTION

Ambulance plays a very crucial role when an accident occurs on the road network or in case of any medical emergency and the need arises to save a human life. Manual booking of an ambulance at times of emergency can take away precious time as it is a time-consuming process. Furthermore, the delay caused due to the heavy traffic congestion in between the pickup spot and the hospital facility may increase the risk of death for the victim.

The system proposed here will help the users book an ambulance easily in an instant. The user will have to select the ambulance size, pick-up point & hospital. In case of emergency, the user will have to just select the pick-up point & destination and the system will automatically book the nearest ambulance and hospital. Once booked the ambulance operator will receive a notification for confirmation of the booking. The Ambulance driver can view the pick-up and drop location on Goggle Maps. The users will receive the contact details of the driver. The Hospitals can also view the booking history. This is how this Ambulance Booking App will act as a life savior in times of medical emergency.

In this system, the user will be able to book an ambulance in advance according to the size of the ambulance and selected hospital, or the user can also book an ambulance for emergency regardless of its size and a random hospital will be allocated to the user. Then the ambulance driver will accept or reject the booking from the user, after accepting or rejecting the status will be updated for the same to the user. Hospital can view the booking history of the user for that particular hospital.

To develop an interactive android app which provides:

• Available ambulances every time everywhere without calling the hospital to check the ambulance availability.
• This app reacts with just one tab on the button.
• This app will send notification of user’s details and location via GPRS to near by ambulance control centres and hospitals.
• Using the simple and cheaper android based platform.

Project Objectives:

Abstract:

As in India, a person dies on every tick of the clock so, we have proposed an application that will provide emergency health response to the patient. The main purpose of this project will fill the gap between the patient and ambulance response time. Ambulances are a vital part of emergency medical services. Usually, patients have a finite range of ambulance contacts; thus whenever in an emergency, they find difficulty. With this project, it is proposed that the application would enable the patient to book a ride to the hospital. The patient can locate themselves or can upload their current location as well as their destination location into the application. The system would then show the nearby available ambulances and the patient can choose its appropriate rides by comparing the quotations and distance of every ride over a region. Finally, billing at the end. The project further endeavors to contribute blood inventory-delivery services to the hospitals. On the other hand, the ambulance driver would get a prompt about the booking made by the patient. The ambulance driver has to confirm the booking made and the application will guide the driver towards the destination. The admin would get all the central information and would control the inquiry and calling functionalities.

The Problem

• While the technology is in favor of patients who might need these emergency medical services at any point in time, unfortunately, the circumstances are not! If you’re wondering how? Then let us help you get acquainted with certain facts.

• As per the World Health Organisation or WHO, in any city, there must be at least 1 ambulance on 80,000 people. However, when we speak of the national capital Delhi, the ratio is appalling. Here, only 1 ambulance for every 1,50,000 people is at work.
• Out of the available ambulances, some are booked for non-emergency cases, such as transferring a patient from one health care centre to another or simply taking back a discharged patient home. Ambulances can also be pre-booked for pregnant or disabled patients, to help them reach the medical establishments in a convenient manner. Needless to say, this further puts a dent in the ambulance - people ratio.
• Then again, WHO recommends a standard response time of 8-10 minutes for an ambulance. This implies, that once the request for an ambulance has been made, it must reach the location of the patient, within under 10 minutes of time. Given the overall lag in emergency services, the response time is far from ideal.
• As per the data given by All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS, as many as 28% of the patients lose out on efficient and reliable emergency medical services due to non-availability of ambulances.

• Furthermore, the road conditions, the infrastructure facilities and other aspects such as high traffic situations, and absence of distinct pathways for emergency assistance vehicles result in extreme delays.

The Solution

Given the dismal state of current circumstances, it is discernible that the national capital, as well as the country, on the whole, needs a path breaking idea which can help make emergency medical services accessible to the general population. To this end, it seems a mobile-based application can do the trick. As has been seen in the case of mobile-based cab services, an app dedicated for an ambulance might help bring the power back in the hands of the common man.

As far as the back end of such a service is concerned, the owners/managers of the ambulance fleets can be roped in. With the help of meticulously designed technology, these ambulance owners or managers can:

Track all the ambulances at once, Receive requests for ambulance bookings, Locate the nearest available ambulance for allocation, Send across driver’s information and contact details to the patient, Depending on patient’s condition, allocate a suitable ambulance with the requisite features and Depending on patient’s condition, designate a paramedic and/or a doctor to be sent with the ambulance for Basic or Advanced Life Support, as required.

Not only can such an app play a pivotal role in the way people avail emergency medical services, but can also prove to be extremely advantageous to the doctors. Given that the patient will be catered to, in the minimum possible time, he can be offered quick and efficient medical care, so that when he finally reaches the hospital, he is already in a stable or comparatively better state. Moreover, in cases, when the patient is being transferred from a remote area, paramedical staff can communicate with the concerned doctor and provide the patient with the requisite care and prescribed drugs. This can be done by enabling the app in a manner that helps the doctor monitor the patient, while he/she is still in the ambulance. This can go a long way in saving the patient’s life. It is now just a matter of time before such an app is introduced, patients all around the country receive ample medical attention, precisely when it is required and where it is required.
