08.06.2019In order to put any drawing in a public space, need the permission of the district administration. For several months I showed my draft to the administration, their comments were:"too much black", "too much conceptual", "too much incomprehensible" and eventually the sketch turned into an abstraction.

Despite the fact that the graffiti was approved, it was repainted after 2 days.

This Poster Can Be The Reason For My DetentionOctober 22, 2020. Happening, video [0:56]Operator: Polina Nevzorova This work was widely circulated on the Internet and provoked a discussion of Belarusian realities. I wanted to show the absurdity of the current legislation. According to the Belarusian law (Article 23.34) , an unauthorized single picketing equal to a mass event leads to a fine of up to 50 basic units or imprisonment of up to 15 days.I assumed that after this action I would be detained, but the story turned out differently. On November 12, In the apartment where I lived with my sister was searched in connection with the criminal case against my sister Maria Kalenik. During the search, the poster was found and confiscated along with computers, flash drives, books and leaflets. Maria told the police that the poster belonged to her to protect me. The text "This poster can be the reason for my detention" was recorded in the report before the detention Maria.Today Maria is recognized as a political prisoner under Article 342 part 1 This publication was followed by reciprocal actions from citizens of Belarus, for example a guy named Roman posted a video on Instagram he's also standing on the bus with a poster in his hand that reads, "you won't be detained, because one for all and all for one" After Roman published the video, he received a court summons because a case was filed against him for participating in mass events. Publications:Magazin Lerchenfeld №59 2022Research project on the “Attention Strategies of Video Activism on the Social Web” 2021Blok magazine “The Most Memorable Year: Highlights of 2020” Moscow art magazine №116, 2021pARTisanka magazine №35, 2021

The Ministry of Internal Affairs RemindsOctober 17.2020 Ulyana Nevzorova and Polina NevzorovaOn October 16, most citizens of Belarus received a message from the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the text: Dear citizens, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds you that the drawing of inscriptions on buildings, structures or other objects, entail administrative responsibility or criminal liability up to 12 years of imprisonment. Take care of your city! The next night, I put this graffiti on the wall. I wanted say that I know the law and I know about criminal liability. But the fact that the graffiti is on the wall expresses my disagreement.

The white-red-white flag is the historical flag of Belarus, which was changed when Lukashenko came to presidency and changed the state symbols to red-green. This flag has a symbolic and historical meaning for many citizens it is used as a symbol against the current government, the state has recognized this flag as an extremist symbol and for the use of the flag there is administrative responsibility

18.10.2020The next day the graffiti was completely repainted by the utilities. That same day, my sister Polina Nevzorova and I decided to take part in this public process.

Text on paper:In stressful situations, I fall into a sleepy state with the desire to close the doors of the room, lie down on the bed, and wait out the difficult moments in my sleep. I can lie in bed for a week in a half-asleep state, where it is hard to distinguish dreams from reality. During this week, there is a foul odor in the room, dishes accumulate on all the surfaces nearest the bed, every action is performed with particular difficulty. This state is often accompanied by existential fear, a sense of anxiety about the future, discomfort with the changes in my life, excitement that I am missing out on important moments, such dream periods are a very intense experience for me, I am flailing between criticizing myself and taking care of myself. I dream about music, and after waking up, it lingers in my head and accompanies me all day long, and my dreams are like a walk during which I reflect on the moments that worry me in the real world.

I want to let you into the room, the room is the most comfortable and sincere place for my creativity. In the solitude I feel no shame about my condition and I remain true to myself. This is an installation in which I try to visualize a state.
