HOW TO LOG INTO YOUR SCC ACCOUNT/RESET YOUR PASSWORD

Register for SCC Single Sign-On Portal

Sampson Community College uses the Microsoft Azure Active Directory Single Sign-On (SSO) portal. This allows students to access Moodle, Office 365, Self-Service, and other Apps simultaneously.

What You Will Need

Items Needed:

The welcome letter or email that you received from the College’s Admissions Office or the Office of Career and College Promise.

Important Information to Remember Before Setting Up Your Account

Note:

  • Use Google Chrome as your web browser
  • If you are using a school issued laptop, be sure to select ‘Use Another Account’ if your school issued email address is currently showing in the window. Do not delete the email address and enter the SCC email.
  • If you are sharing a laptop, you may either select use another account or use an incognito window. To do this, open Chrome, go to the end of the address bar and click the three vertical dots and select incognito window.

STEP 1: Create or Reset Your Password

  1. Using Google Chrome as your web browser, go to https://reset.sampsoncc.edu/PasswordReset.
  2.  Click Reset Your Password.
  3. Enter your username.

What is my username? Sampson Community College usernames are a total of 14-characters.

How to create your username example:

First initial of your first name + last name (up to the first 9-characters) + last 4-digits of your 7-digit Colleague ID number.

4. Once you have determined your username click the Reset Your Password link to create your password or reset your account.

5. Next, Enter your full first name, last name, and your 7-digit Colleague identification number. Click Next. Note: If you are resetting your password you may see two additional security questions.

Note: The new password must be at least 8-characters long. It must include at least 1-uppercase letter, one number, and one special character (.,!,?).

Enter your username and password.

What is my username? First initial of your first name + last name (up to the first 9-characters) + last 4-digits of your 7-digit Colleague ID number.

Answer the four security questions and click next.

Be sure you receive the confirmation that your account has been enrolled in the Password Reset portal.

Step 3: Logging In to the SCC SSO Portal

Logging into the MySCC Single Sign-On (SSO) portal

 

After you have reset or created your password and enrolled in the password reset portal. Go to https://www.sampsoncc.edu/ and locate the MySCC Login block. Enter your SCC email address and your password.

 

Office 365 (SCC email) requires students to add @mail.sampsoncc.edu to the end of their username. Example: mjohnson3456@mail.sampsoncc.edu

Step 3: Logging In to the SCC SSO Portal

Note: The first time you enter your Office 365 email you may be required to enter more information to secure your identity. If you are a new user click next to complete the two-factor MFA identity process. You will not be able to access the SCC Viking Apps page if you do not complete these steps: Click Next or Continue. On the Configure Mobile app page, scroll down and choose ‘Select a different method.’

After you have completed Step 1: you may be asked to set up a second MFA verification. You may select by email, or complete the three security questions. Be sure the email is an email address other than the Sampson Community College email address issued to you by the college.

After you have completed the MFA registration steps you should be redirected to the SCC Viking Apps page. New students may need to enter their password when logging into the SCC Viking Apps page for the first time.

First Time Moodle Users

First time Moodle Login:

 

Moodle Note: When logging into Moodle for the first time, your ‘Current Password’ will be the default password (bdMMDDYY i.e. bd121885). Enter the default password; next enter the password that you reset or created in Step 1. You will only perform this step one time.
