DEVELOPMENT OF THE TOPIC

After receiving the topic and basic information about the Cycle Fitness Company the ideas came rushing and there were a couple of things we did before beginning the execution phase.

  • Researched professional Cycle Fitness websites
  • Chose a unique name to stand out amongst competitors
  • Drew out potential designs
  • Found a sleek color palette

Our goal was to develop a website that not only stood out and exceeded expectations but one that propelled itself past the professional displays that originally inspired it.

We pride ourselves on the distinctness of our websites. Because we created our own template, our website is open to almost any change to meet the needs of our customer.

After deciding on the name, colors scheme, and layout of the website we commenced the design.

Our website has a total of 54 pages which include 6 main pages, located in the horizontal navigation at the top of the all pages, which branch out to sub-pages. Our main tabs include

Our home page is eye candy and keeps the consumer interested, it includes a stunning image of the NY skyline and a “contact” button.

Though we focused on a appealing design its also important that we fill the homepage with criteria that captured what 42 cycle fitness is all about. For example; Different types of bikes we sell and up and coming events.

DESIGN PROCESS

Our purchasing pages are a key part of our design. After a customer sees something they like they’ll click the product and these pages could either sell or doom the product. The purchase page includes a “add to cart” button linking to our paypal page and a detailed description of each product.

TECHNOLOGY USED

  • Since Google Sites doesn’t allow jQuery to be embedded onto the site itself, we used iFrames to link the gadgets used from a folder hosted in google drive.
  • The Calendar page is linked to the 42 cycle fitness google account and can be edited from any device at any time.
  • Our Seminars page is filled with information ranging from bike safety to assembly, we used a youtube gadget to place the videos onto the page.

TECHNOLOGY USED

  • Our Contact page includes an embedded google map showing the location of our shop as well as a JotForm which is embedded via iFrame and is linked to the 42 Cycle Fitness Gmail account.
  • The use of Image Mouseover in iFrame gave our home page a distinctive feel and tempts the consumer to click on the changing pictures.

TECHNOLOGY USED

  • In a world dominated by social media, we thought it would be convenient market wise to create social media accounts for 42 Cycle Fitness. This includes a Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Google + account so no matter what the consumer uses they'll be able to reach us.
  • The most influential tool we used was Gimp, a photoshop like program free to download online. This tool assisted us in creating a sleek and professional display across the website.

COPYRIGHT ISSUES X

On our Legal page, we have a document referencing all video, audio, and photographs on our website.

There seems to be millions of ways to officially site and we chose the best methods. We found that using original images and videos would be much more efficient for this website.
