About Me:
My name is Kelsey Sheridan. I am an ESL teacher in the Ottawa Elementary District working at McKinley and Jefferson schools this year. This will be my 13th year working in education. I worked for three years in Puerto Rico teaching 1st grade at a bilingual school. After that, I moved back to Ottawa, my hometown, to teach PreK - 8th Spanish for 5 years at Marquette Academy. This year I look forward to working with students I already know and new students in OES 141. I can't wait to continue supporting them in and outside in the classroom. I love being able to support not only my ELLs grow in their language development, but also help their families feel included and valued in this district.
Mi nombre es Kelsey Sheridan. Soy profesora de ESL en el Distrito Primario de Ottawa y trabajo en las escuelas McKinley y Jefferson este año. Este será mi decimotercer año trabajando en educación. Trabajé durante tres años en Puerto Rico enseñando 1er grado en una escuela bilingüe. Después de eso, regresé a Ottawa, mi ciudad natal, para enseñar español desde prekínder hasta octavo grado durante 5 años en Marquette Academy. Este año espero trabajar con estudiantes que ya conozco y estudiantes nuevos en OES 141. No puedo esperar a seguir apoyándolos dentro y fuera del aula. Me encanta poder ayudar no solo a que mis estudiantes ELL crezcan en su desarrollo del lenguaje, sino también ayudar a sus familias a sentirse incluidas y valoradas en este distrito.
