Necessity of a training center
Institutions in several Sub-Saharan African countries are faced with the problem of waste management.
For instance, in Rwanda the statistics show that 61% of the institutional waste are organics

Furthermore, in many institutions, liquid waste management is still a challenge.

Disposal of solid waste resulted in the pollution of downstream water bodies (World Water Assessment Programme [WWAP] 2017), negatively affect people’s health and pollute environment.

Electronic waste also negatively affect the environment and peoples’ health, this due to dumping of end life of computers or some parts of computers and other electronic devices.
Those devices contain numerous toxic chemicals that affect environments and crops that people can consume for instance arsenic, antimony, beryllium, cadmium, chromium and organic compounds of chlorine and bromine.

Thus, sustainable waste management would require partnership between institutions and the training centre.

Necessity of a training center
A circular economy would be a solution to minimize waste making it income generating. The emphasis could be put on practice and experiential learning with industrial placement that trains trainees on the proposed circular business model and also implement the model through pilot projects, supported by Business information System (BIS).

Objectives
The main objective of this project is to create a business model centre hinged on the circular economy by channelling the organic waste produced into compost production for soil improvement and increased agricultural productivity.
