WHO is the course For?

Students who:

• Have passed Math 1, Math 2 and Math 3
• Want to take another “C” approved A-G math course
• Are intrigued by creative challenges
• Enjoy solving new problems while working with others
• Are interested in learning about different forms of math

WHAT does the math look like?

GAMES:

• On each player's turn, they must move 1, 2, 3, or all 4 dots one square downward.
• The player who cannot make a move loses.

Is there a way you can win every time?

COMBINATORICS (That’s a fancy way to say . . . “COUNTING!”)

A group of 7 students shook hands at a youth leadership conference. Each person shook hands with everyone else exactly once. How many handshakes occurred?

PATTERN FINDING: What is the minimum number of moves needed to solve this puzzle?

Move the stack of disks to another pole:

• Only one disk can be moved at a time.
• A larger disk may not be placed on top of a smaller disk.
