WHAT IS SADHANA?

Daily Spiritual Practice.

The time you take to align your self with your True Self.

A self-discipline that allows one to express the Infinite within one’s self.

Provides the connection and calm that you draw from as you move through your activities of the day.

‘Sadhana’ is a Sanskrit term for "a means to accomplish something” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadhana_(disambiguation)

MODELS OF SADHANA IN KUNDALINI YOGA

The first Sadhana was 2 ½ hours of Morning Call.

1978, the recitation of Japji Sahib and a Kundalini Yoga set were added. Morning call was reduced to 15 minutes and the recitation of three other 15-minute mantras were added.

There were various changes of mantras, with or without mudra/asana, throughout the years until we landed on the Aquarian Sadhana in 1992.

WHAT IS THE AQUARIAN SADHANA?

This combination of meditations was designed to provide the intuition, physical and mental stamina, self-awareness, and a new depth of spiritual identity so we can hold our identity in the face of global changes, relentless competition, information overload, and ecological and environmental challenges of the transition into Aquarian Age.

WAAH YANTEE LINK TO PATANJALI’S YOGA SUTRAS

  • Per Gurbaaj Singh, a scholar/researcher:“Tracing down some more sources, but it would seem that the mantra has found long usage in the different mystical traditions within the Panth. According to the Pujaris of Patna Sahib, the full mantra as provided is found in Gurmukhi Senchis of Pantajali’s Yoga Sutra, added to verse 27 of Chapter 1. Verse 27 is provided on the top left. If this is the case, this is a fascinating placement and essentially means that Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras became an important text that was utilized to point to the theology of the Shabad Guru. One of the earliest published mentions of the mantra I have found is to 1954…”

Compassion Kriya

https://www.3ho.org/meditation/compassion-kriya/

This kriya invites us into the embodiment of compassion. The combination of mudra and sound catalyze a shift in consciousness in which we recognize our inherent connection, and surpass the tendencies toward othering and separation.

We may know through study, upbringing or faith that we are to love one another, but true compassion is rare. Still, it is the very thing that makes us human. What is it that gets in the way? Compassion is in our capacity to love one another, and is the expression of our very nature.

Posture: Sit in Easy Pose with your spine straight.

Mudra: Cross the Saturn Fingers (middle fingers) over the Jupiter fingers (index fingers) of each hand. Place thumbs on mounds of Mercury, which is just at the base of the pinkie.

Eyes: Closed.

Mantra: Sing with a lyrical version of Rakhay Rakhanahaar.

Movement:

On the first line of the mantra, bring the hands up and press the left hand over the right at your heart center.

On the second line of the mantra, lower the arms so the wrists rest on the knees.

Continue alternating in this way, but keep the hands at the chest for the last line that repeats twice.

Then briefly lower and raise them again for the first line.

Continue for 31 minutes
