Contribution Campaigns
June 2021 Update
@Hyperledger
Earth Day Contribution Campaign
The Climate Action and Accounting SIG and Cactus project worked with staff to run a contribution focused campaign to coincide with Earth Day
We helped improve their wiki pages and shared 3 blog posts and a video on all Hyperledger channels
Earth Day Campaign Update
“I am new to the Climate Action SIG group and would like to become a regular contributor to its open-source project(s). I have been engaged in open-source projects since early 2019, but am new to the HyperLedger community.”
Campaign Templates
Much of the preparation for a campaign is adding information about how people can contribute to that effort
We improved the CASIG and Cactus wiki pages to provide clear steps for how to get involved and these can be used as templates for other projects
For example, on the Cactus wiki we added contribution information to the top of the page, made the intro video more discoverable and embedded good first issues into the page

Campaign: Contribution Data
New CASIG list subscribers: 26
New contributors to CASIG lab: 0
Takeaway: This campaign raised awareness of the CASIG and its lab and got people into the group and started on a contribution pathway. It takes time to get up to speed to the point where you can contribute code though, so we should be looking at contributions made to a project a quarter after a campaign is over vs. as soon as a campaign is done to get a full understanding of the impact of that campaign.
Upcoming Contribution Campaigns
Q3 2021: Minifabric
Q4 2021: In discussions with Indy, Besu and Ursa but no time frame has been worked out yet for when these will go live. We’ll also invite the Firefly team to do a contribution campaign if their project is accepted.
