Rationale

  • Artificial Intelligence Education is hindered by unprepared teachers to facilitate learners in interaction of this new education initiative.
  • This should further be seen as digital illiteracy among teachers.
  • The digital illiteracy among teachers comes to affect the effective the implementation educational technology.
  • This also creates achievement gap in Rwandan basic education and education system as a whole.

  • Therefore, This study will help educational planners and stakeholders to find out the challenges and ethical aspects associated with implementation of artificial intelligence in Education.
  • However, Teachers will find out the mitigation measures to improve their digital literacy in their daily teaching activities.

Methodology

  • Purposive nonprobability sampling technique was used to select participants.
  • Structured questionnaire was used as data collection tool.
  • Descriptive statistics and thematic approach were used to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data collected.
  • Figures and chats were used to present the obtained findings.

Conclusion

  • The study investigated the challenges, and ethical aspects of AIED.
  • The study established that fragile technological infrastructure,
  • inadequate government expenditure in education, achievement gap in education based on social economic group,
  • resistance to implement AIED because of fear to be replaced by AIED,
  • and unprepared teacher for AIED implementation were the main challenges of AIED
