Questions?

28 of 37

Delay the Smartphone

Chaired by

Dani Yemini & Jamie Kramer

29 of 37

What is Wait Until 8th?

  • Wait until 8th is an amazing organization that helps communities come together to wait until at least 8th grade to give their children smartphones.

  • The Wait Until 8th pledge empowers parents to rally together to delay giving children a smartphone until at least the end of 8th grade, thereby reducing access and exposure to social media. By banding together, this will decrease the pressure felt by our kids and parents alike over the kids having a smartphone, and allow kids to be kids longer.

**This pledge is for smartphones only. If you already have or plan to give your child a watch, iPad, basic phone that just calls and texts, you still can sign the pledge! We embrace technology --- we are looking to avoid many of the distractions and potential dangers of the smartphone.
