Hints:

  • Select objects that make you happy!

For example: toys or food.

  • Draw a horizon line (line that separates the sky from the ground)
  • Draw the planted object(s) below the horizon line and replicate them as best as possible. Break them into SHAPES and go SLOW!
  • Out of the object, draw the flower stem and the flower. Think about how various details in the object can be represented in the flower. Get creative and wacky!!
  • Pencil details first and then add color of any kind. Take your time coloring: all the way to line and think about different pressures for excitement!!

Hundertwasser (1948-1999) was a German painter who loved nature and used natural themes in his artwork, such as lollipop flowers!

“A good picture is when the picture is full of magic, when you can feel the happiness in it, when it makes you laugh or cry, or when it makes something happen. It should be like a flower or a tree. It should be like Nature. It should be that we miss it when it isn’t there.” Hundertwasser

Check out how fun and bright this artists flowers are! Wow!
