Day 1 - Learn about comic book history & steps of creating a comic book page

Day 2 - Develop characters, storyboard, panel layout, pencil sketches

Day 3 - Inking & lettering

Day 4 - Use coloring techniques to color and turn in to Artsonia

MANDALA

Day 1: Watch video about mandala and how to draw a circle. Practice drawing 7 embedded circles.

Day 2: Watch video on pattern designs. Follow along with the video to create your designs.

Day 3: Begin your mandala drawing. Start with 7 circles and then add your designs.

Day 4: Use colored pencil techniques to color in your mandala and submit it to ArtSonia.

3. You will also use white and black to lighten and darken.

4. Now in your sketchbook, practice each of the

techniques on the following slide:

1.Hatching 2.Varied Hatching 3.Contour Hatching 4.Cross Hatching

Colored Pencil Exercise: Animal Eye

• Measure 4x6” rectangle in sketchbook, in pencil (vertical or horizontal)
• Find a colorful picture of any animal eye
• Accurately draw the animal eye in the sketchbook lightly in pencil
• Begin coloring using colored pencils
• Use LIGHT colors first, DARK colors last
• Must display clear evidence of multiple values of a single color
• Must display clear evidence of layering multiple colors
• Must display clear evidence of burnishing technique
• No drawing pencil seen in final copy
• All coloring should be done as neatly as possible
• Should be completed in 1 class period, worth 20 points
