1. Why a DevCo?

In the context of the wider aspirations for the Midlands Engine, we submitted our business case for EM DevCo on 19 March to help us deliver 84,000 additional jobs; 10,000 new homes and an uplift in GVA of £4.8bn

2. Our Ambition

• As a locally-led vehicle, community engagement - at the heart of everything we do
• working closely with Toton & Chilwell Neighborhood Forum demonstrated in close working, including relating to
• Toton & Chetwynd Masterplan; and

4. Early Ambitions

• Soft-market testing with commercial interests as prelude to a more formal procurement process.

• Engagement with Government on LLUDC legislation; early ambitions. Exploring opportunities with Homes England in parallel.

• DevCo governance - focused on the recruitment of an Independent Chair (interim) and private sector NEDs, alongside working through the discharge of anticipated planning responsibilities.
