What are Can-Do Statements?

What’s the point?

  • Multiple statements that describe certain things YOU can do with language.
  • Set goals for the lab and help you to understand the purpose of the activity.

  • Helps to track your progress
  • Is a way to self assess your skills (Makes it easier to brag about how much you’re learning!)
  • Know the objective for the activity

In the target language, I can:

  • interact at a survival level in some familiar contexts.
  • provide info by answering a few simple questions.
  • express basic preferences or feelings.
