Car Riders

Drop off in the front drop-off line and exit from the passenger side of the vehicle only.

Walkers & Bikers

Enter through the front doors. Please do not park in the neighborhood and walk students across the car rider drive.

Bus & Daycare Riders

Enter through the cafeteria doors along Post Road.

Enter through the cafeteria doors beginning at 7:15 AM.

For everyone's safety: please do not exit your vehicle in the car rider line, and do not park to walk students across the drive unless you have business in the front office.

LATE ARRIVAL — BEGINNING AUGUST 24TH

• Students arriving after 8:01 AM must enter with a parent and sign in at the office.
• Staff have duty assignments after 8:00 AM and are unable to remain at car rider duty once instruction begins.
• Traffic is lightest between 7:15–7:45 AM — arrive early to avoid a tardy.

GROUND RULES

• All car riders need a car rider tag hanging in the rearview mirror — request one from the office anytime after the year starts.
• Please do not exit your vehicle to pick up your student at the door — pick them up from your vehicle.
• Any change in dismissal for a student must be made before 2:30 PM — no exceptions. (Students cannot be
• checked out early after 2:30 pm.)
• If someone other than a parent is picking up your student, that person must be listed in Skyward as a family member or emergency contact, and must show physical ID.

ARRIVAL MAP · beginning at 7:15 AM

• Students can be dropped off at the front doors (ALL PK–5), or the cafeteria doors for Special Programs only, beginning at 7:15 AM.
• Walkers and bikers cross at the marked crosswalk — never at the “Do Not Cross Here” zone.
• No student drop-off in the rear parking lot.

CAR RIDER DISMISSAL MAP

• Grades PK–1 (and their older siblings) are dismissed in the front drive — red-arrow lane.
• Grades 2–5 (no siblings) are dismissed in the side drive by the cafeteria doors — blue-arrow lane.
• Please do not block the far right-hand lane of traffic.

If your student is a car rider, please stay in your vehicle — do not exit to pick them up at the door.

RAINY DAY · light rain, no thunder/lightning

• Students are sent home the usual way — no notification is sent. Pack a poncho or umbrella.
• Switching a walker/biker to car pickup because of rain? Call the office to make the change.
• There are NO checkouts from 2:30–3:55 PM.
• Non-parent pickups must be listed in Skyward with the appropriate car tag.

INCLEMENT WEATHER · heavy rain, lightning, hail, tornado, extreme cold

• A dismissal decision is made no later than 3:00 PM and shared via eNews, text, and email.
• All single bikers/walkers are placed in the car rider lines (front or side, by grade).
• Parents will NOT be allowed to walk up and receive their student — safety first.
• Expect delays and longer lines. Please remain in your vehicle.
• Dismissal changes are never accepted after 2:30 PM.

• Students wait in their designated dismissal area until their bus number or daycare is announced.
• A staff member escorts students to the correct bus or van.

CAFETERIA & MEALS

• Contact your child's teacher for lunch times.
• DoorDash and other food delivery services are not accepted for students.
• Help your student memorize their 6-digit Student ID — it speeds up the lunch line.
• Add funds to your student's account at SchoolCafe.com, and set low-balance alerts.
• Apply for meal benefits at SchoolCafe.com before the school year starts.
• Check the menu on SchoolCafe often for meals your child will love.

• Students with a visitor may not invite a friend to eat with them.
• All visitors and their student will eat on the stage.
• Students may not share food with a friend.

CLASSROOM TREATS & HOW WE CELEBRATE

• Store-bought cupcakes are welcome — please check with the teacher about food allergies.
• Drop treats off at the front office no later than your student's lunchtime.
• Treats are served during recess or prior to dismissal.
• No individual birthday parties — class continues as scheduled, and parents may not come to the classroom for treats.
• Student birthdays are celebrated daily during morning announcements, and students receive a birthday pencil.

TARDY POLICY

• Teaching and learning begin at 8:00 AM — students are tardy at 8:01 AM.
• Beginning August 25th: parents must come inside to sign their child in if arriving after 8:01 AM.
• Students are marked late in Skyward if arriving after 8:00 AM.
• Tip: line up between 7:15–7:45 AM to avoid a tardy.

ATTENDANCE

• Attendance matters at every level — every day in school is a chance to learn.
• Written documentation is required within 3 days of an absence for it to be excused.
• State law allows only 10 unexcused absences within a school year.
• Excused absences include doctor visits, religious holidays, and court orders.

NEW TEXAS CELL PHONE LAW · HB 1481

• Applies to cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds/headphones, and tablets or any device that can text, call, record, or access the internet.
• The rule: Not Seen. Not Heard. Not Taken.
• Students may bring phones and personal devices to school, but from morning entry until the final dismissal bell, devices must be powered off or silenced and stored in a backpack or locker.
• Administrators may approve phone use in emergency situations involving health or safety.
