Conclusion
15
Shake-A-Leg is a valuable non-profit organization that provides people with disabilities the opportunity to participate in marine environment programs and activities.
After analyzing the Shake-A-Leg website, one participant inferred that, “Shake-A-Leg Miami is an organization where people from all abilities and backgrounds can come together and enjoy the beauty of nature in the Biscayne Bay.”
Through the remote usability test conducted for the Shake-A-Leg Miami website, our group of seven moderators found 5 positive aspects. They include:
- An abundance of images and videos that depict the purpose of Shake-A-Leg.
- Informative content defining the organization and its program and activities.
- The obvious location of the "Donate Now" button at the top of the home page.
- Social media links for updates, news, and user engagement.
- Staff member contact information.
Conclusion
16
The 19 problems found through the usability test relate to:
- Small text and disorienting colors.
- Lack of search bar.
- Navigation confusion and displaced or misleading links.
- Location of the navigation bar.
- Obscure location of the organization’s important aspects.
- Congested and redundant information architecture.
- Outdated and blank content.
Shake-A-Leg's website is a place to communicate the organization's purpose, programs, activities, news, events, rentals, and donations.
Implementing our redesign recommendations would improve the website's Navigation, Layout, Content, and Design; thus creating a greater impact on its users.
