A Little About Oak Grove!

Arrival - Morning recess begins at 7:35, 1st bell 8:12, Warning bell, 8:18, class begins at 8:20

Start of the day - Grades K through 5 classroom meetings. What does this look like?

Rotations - Grades K through 5 (some specificity within grade levels) will see have the following classes 1x every 5 days; art, music, drama, Spanish, Library or STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Grades 6-8 have 1 rotations per day and switches each quarter or roughly 9ish weeks. Each rotations class is 40 minutes.

PE - All K - 8 students have PE or Health every day at Oak Grove. K through 5 students have PE for 30 minutes and students in grades 6 through 8 have PE for 40 minutes.

Lunch - Students in grades K through 3 have lunch for 25 minutes, students in grades 4th and 5th have lunch for 20 minutes, and students in grade 6 through 8 have 30 minutes of flextime for lunch/recess

Recess - Students in grades K through 5 have a total of 30 minutes for recess. 15 minutes is prior to lunch providing them 40 minutes (K-3) or 35 minutes (4th and 5th) for non-academic time every day.

Dismissal - Student dismissal begins at 3:20. Our bus riders, walker, bike riders, extended day participants are dismissed immediately. In order to minimize the number of students traveling through the building our pick up students are released using driveline. Any family who may pick up during the year will receive a placard to hang on their front window. The placard has a number which will indicate to our staff that the “Murray” family is here, staff will enter in the number, and the Murray family will make their way to door 18 for pick up. Please note that this presentation will be shared with you and available on the website within the next 24 hours.
