Parent Override Process

In order for a course recommendation Parent Override to be considered, all steps of the process must be finalized by the deadline, 4 PM March 13th 2025.

  1. Parent contacts the teacher - The parent will reach out to the teacher that made the recommendation they are wanting to override and explain the reason for the request. The teacher will respond with feedback.
  2. Parent Override Form Signed by all parties- The parent will then fill out and sign the override form and send it to the teacher to sign. The teacher’s signature shows the override was discussed. This signature does not mean they agree.
  3. Parent submits Parent Override Request Form - The override form is submitted to the student’s counselor by the due date.

Open Block Policy

Open Period Form

You cannot request AM or open. Open periods will fall where they work in your schedule.

Rising Seniors that are ahead of schedule to earn all credits for graduation and CCR certified earn the opportunity to request to have a less than full schedule with open periods.

SchooLinks is a comprehensive College and Career Readiness platform provided to all Greenville County Schools middle and high school students. Required tasks are assigned to students which provide valuable information in creating each student’s Individual Graduation Plan (IGP).

As students near the end of high school, they use the platform to apply to colleges, explore scholarships, and access internship and job opportunities.

College Entrance Testing

Students are encouraged to sign up for the PSAT in 10th and 11th grade. Testing sign up will come through testing coordinator Dr. Alsip at JL Mann early in the fall semester.

All juniors should sign up for either the ACT or SAT offered here on campus in the spring for free. Sign ups will be through the testing coordinator in the fall semester.
