2021 California legislation (AB736) provides guidance to universities for how non-tenure track instructors will be compensated going forward. This legislation differentiates compensation related to classroom hours and additional non-course-related work.
All non-exempt non-tenure track faculty members and graduate students, across all academic units. If you are unsure of your employment status, log into Workday, navigate to “Personal Information” → “About Me” → “Job Profile”. If you see “(non-exempt)” in the title, you are eligible.
Activities such as attending university sponsored professional development workshops are eligible for instructors to submit hours and be paid an hourly rate of $20. For a full list of eligible CEE activities, see here.
