New findings: Manaiakalani schools 2015- 2018

As we have continued with the research partnership, further findings have emerged. One important finding is that students from Manaiakalani primary schools who entered the secondary school with good levels of writing achievement (Level 4 in the curriculum) were 50% more likely to pass NCEA 2 than students with similar achievement levels who did not come from Manaiakalani primary schools.

Cybersmart Curriculum

Differentiating Cybersmart Learning

  • To enable people to connect, make it visible.
  • Visibility enables access to learning any time, any place, any pace and from any one (A4)
  • Visibility empowers people to access and share their learning.

In consultation with class teacher and SLT:

  • Consolidate learning from Term 1-3 Cybersmart strands - Smart Learner, Smart Footprint and Smart Relationships. Identify any of the key learning concepts that may need to be revisited.
  • Identify cybersmart learning from the remaining categories to support the planned programme of learning across curriculum learning areas.
  • Identify opportunities to support Digital Immersion teachers to plan for and lead cybersmart learning
