REACH OF ECHIS

Across Africa, CommCare is either being scaled or piloted as the selected electronic community health information system (eCHIS) in 9 countries.

More than 84,000 Community Health Workers in these countries are using CommCare, and have registered more than 76 million beneficiaries.

These programs will ultimately form the backbone of community health systems for countries representing more than 35% of Africa’s population.

In addition to community health, CommCare is also the selected digital health system for other verticals in countries notably campaign management which has registered over 1.5 million campaign workers.

In 2025, Dimagi is updating our eCHIS offering at a much more affordable price point. This unlocks governments from reliance on expensive custom contracts and provides a sustainable path to scale.

Offering only available to governments scaling national scale eCHIS systems. Should governments not want this option, they are welcome to transition to on-premise hosting.

Project spaces can only be used for eCHIS systems.

Over the coming months, Dimagi will be engaging with all governments to discuss this updated offering in detail.

By the end of 2025, we will start the transition process. This will include adapting all eCHIS systems to meet the new requirements of this offering. This may result in changes to functionality.

Governments that choose not to opt into this offering will have the opportunity to shift to local hosting options within a defined timeframe.

This offering is only available for national community health systems, and cannot be used for other digital programs (e.g. campaigns).
