Lotus Release Work Status

  • Circulation Storage work is in code review, should be available in Lotus release
  • Circulation UI work (wildcard lookup of items for disambiguation in check-in/check-out apps) should be available in lotus release
  • Rest of work will not be tied to Lotus release schedule…

The rest of INN-Reach MVP

  • 3rd-party APIs are done
  • Circulation flow integration with FOLIO circulation (loans, requests, check-in actions) should be complete in the next sprint (2/21)
  • Ongoing record contribution is slated to be complete in the next sprint (2/21)
  • Working to identify bugs and waiting on III to verify two-way communication with central server (working on this now)

So, what’s next?

Integration Verification by III

  • First step is to complete III’s Sandbox Verification Checklist
    • Once previously mentioned functionality is complete and we have addressed any API implementation discrepancies, we should be able to complete this stage of the process quickly (1-2 weeks, once MVP development is complete)
    • This is already in-progress using our development environments
  • Step 2…

What does this entail? When can we start?

Process update received from III last Friday

“Once your implementation is sandbox certified, you'll begin working with our services team to certify your implementation in production. This requires identifying the first customer site. Do you already have someone in mind? The timeline for certifying the first site for a new vendor in production is roughly 6 months from project kickoff to the customer becoming live in an INN-Reach system. This allows for extensive testing in a production system to ensure the quality of your implementation.”

What does this do to timelines?

Required functionality is complete and ready to be verified in the III Sandbox environment

MVP is Complete

2/21-2/28

Identify the FOLIO library that will serve as the production certification implementation site

Identify First Customer Site

2/7-3/31

Integration is production certified (III says 6mo) and can be deployed by other FOLIO libraries

Production Certification/GA

11/22

Begin process of implementing integration in a production INN-Reach system (will require library running Lotus, which is scheduled for GA mid-April)

Production Verification begins

5/1-6/1

Sandbox certification checklist is complete and solution has been demoed to III (live or via recording) and accepted

MVP is Sandbox Certified

3/1-3/15

Other FOLIO Libraries are live in production INN-Reach environments

Additional sites live

2/23

Who goes first?

  • Library must be running Lotus
    • This is the FOLIO release that the integration is targeted to
  • Library should be in production with FOLIO for Inventory and circulation
  • Library should (ideally) be a member of an INN-Reach consortium that has already implemented a D2IR Library (or two)
  • Library is prepared to work closely with Consortium, III, and the dev team to identify and address issues that arise

What do we need from a production certification site?

What about everyone else?

  • Can we compress the production verification timeline?
    • Some indication that going with a system that has integrated via D2IR previously can help here
  • Can we begin implementation for other libraries before full production verification is complete for the first site? (question to ask III)
  • Pre-planning implementation (circulation rules, policies, patron groups, institutional users, etc.)

What can we do to get others up and running ASAP?
